Palliser Regional Library is celebrating its 50th year of service to the province of Saskatchewan While not all libraries within the region are of the same vintage, the Imperial Branch is, as it officially turned 50 on September 25, 2023. This cache is to celebrate this milestone event.
"The Imperial Branch of the Palliser Library was opened in September 1973. The original board being Ethel Lessard, Mary Stratton and Rae Lewis. Dorothy Lucas was the librarian until August 1982 when Brenda Wilcox took over. In September of that year (1982) all the books were moved to the Community Hall while the new library facility was expanded. The branch now occupied about 1500 square feet and has its own entrance complete with a ramp for the handicapped.
This new building was made possible by a generous bequest left by Mr, Russell Aitken to the Town of Imperial. A plaque acknowledging this gift has been placed in the new library."

The difficulty level was determined by the limited hours the facility is open. You will need to enter the library in order to locate the cache. The current hours of Imperial Library are Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. effective January 3, 2024.
