Geocache Description:

Don't get me started.

Many, many years ago, LA had a great rail system, with both Red cars and Yellow Cars taking Angelenos most everywhere they wanted to go, from the mountains to the sea and everywhere in between.

Then that all went away.

Decades later the city decided to try again, and built the Blue line, which went from downrown to Long Beach, followed by the Red and Purple subway lines, and the Green line which went from Norwalk to somewhere near, but not to, LAX.

And in typical LA fashion, none of these lines were interoperable with any other lines that have followed (Thanks Tom).  Well, the Red and Purple did interoperate with each other as they were essentially the same subway early on.

And then, decades after these (and newer) lines became well-known by their colors, the city decided to 'make things easier' for folks by dumping the colors and assigning each line a letter.

OK, that could work. Let's see, the Blue line could now be known as the 'B' line, the Red line could become the "R" line, the Green line could become the 'G' line. Yeah, that could work quite well. Old folks would still know which lines were which, and to new folks the old colors wouldn't matter anyway.

But remember, the city changed to the lettering system to 'make things easier'

Which is why The Blue line is now the 'A' line, the Red line is now the 'B' line, the Gold line is now the 'L' line, and the Green line is now the 'C' line. Perfect!!

Heaven forbid the Blue become the 'B', or the Red become the 'R', or the Green become the 'G'

Which brings us to the fact that there used to be a cache near here called 'The Green Line' So in honor of that I decided to place this tribute in it's place, lovingly known as...

You guessed it - The 'C' Line
