Welcome to the laneways of Preston!
This is the first cache of 4yo geo kid Rami, who wanted to bring people to one of our favorite routes through the back streets of this great suburb.
Between Wood St in the north, Plenty road in the east, Gower street in the south and High street in the west, there are a series of 7 laneways running down hill from east to west. Each has their own charm and provide a quiet and adventurous alternate route from Plenty road down to High st. They're also pretty zippy on a bike!
Here you'll find an abundance of interesting plants overhanging from neighbouring properties, highlighting the diverse migrant heritage of the area through the back yard gardens people grow - figs, kafir lime, perssimons, lemons, pomegrainate, oranges, chestnuts and bay trees are just some of what we've spotted!
We hope you enjoy this peek into a little explored path through Preston.
