While hiking in Salt Hill State Forest, I was surprised to see that the ruins of the collapsed fire tower were no longer there, and had been removed by the state. While exploring the area near the summit, I did find this amazing spot, not too far away. Salt Hill is truly one of the best kept secrets in northern Westchester.
The main trail will lead you to the summit. While at times, it may seem to lead in the wrong direction, there are several switchbacks and it will (eventually) get you to the top.
