This cache has been placed to celebrate the history of the Jasper Place Branch of the Edmonton Public Library.
Before the Town of Jasper Place was annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1964, Jasper Place asked the then EPL Director Morton Colburn to help design its first library. The orginal branch was opened in 1961. The Branch was extensively modified in 1988 and a new building designed by Dub Architects was opened in 2013. For further detailed history of the EPL read the book Just Getting Started - EPL's first 100 years, 1913-2013 by Todd Babiuk.
