Inspired by CITO caches, this CICO was created. CICO stands for Cache in, cat out:
Opposite the beach of Tavronitis you will find a so-called cat café: About 20 homeless cats live here. They feed on food donated by tourists and locals. Fleas and other diseases plague one or the other animal. As they are obviously partly or not at all neutered, they multiply strongly - thus there are more and more cats without a loving home. "cat out" is therefore the long-term goal of this cache: to draw attention to these cats so that they can find a loving home. Every catcher can help:
1. of course you will find a cache with logbook on site and can log as usual. My daughter would be much happier about additional photo logs: This way we can see how the cats are doing when we are not on Crete but at home in Germany. Therefore, logging by photo in addition to the logbook entry is expressly desired!
2. if you like, you can bring some cat food and drinking water to provide for their physical well-being.
3. please also check what others put out for the cats: Unfortunately, sometimes the water is not fresh / dirty and often the cats are given nonsensical things to eat that do not agree with them or are not eaten and thus go to waste. The cats will thank you if you take rubbish and inedible items to the rubbish bin across the road.
4 So much for short-term help. In the medium term, it would be good if the cats got healthy and stayed healthy and were neutered - anyone who knows about this and / or has local contacts to animal welfare organisations or tips, please post them in the log. This way, subsequent cachers can find out how they can help. 5.
5. giving the cats a loving home is the long-term goal: this decision needs to be well thought out and requires some preparation as well as coordination with vets and local helpers. Εμπνευσμένο από τις κρυψώνες CITO, δημιουργήθηκε αυτό το CICO. CICO σημαίνει Cache in, cat out:
Απέναντι από την παραλία του Ταυρωνίτη θα βρείτε ένα λεγόμενο cat café: Εδώ ζουν περίπου 20 άστεγες γάτες. Τρέφονται με τροφή που δωρίζουν τουρίστες και ντόπιοι. Οι ψύλλοι και άλλες ασθένειες ταλαιπωρούν το ένα ή το άλλο ζώο. Καθώς είναι προφανώς μερικώς ή καθόλου στειρωμένες, πολλαπλασιάζονται έντονα - έτσι υπάρχουν όλο και περισσότερες γάτες χωρίς ένα σπίτι αγάπης. Το "cat out" είναι επομένως ο μακροπρόθεσμος στόχος αυτής της cache: να τραβήξουμε την προσοχή σε αυτές τις γάτες, ώστε να μπορέσουν να βρουν ένα σπίτι αγάπης. Κάθε κυνηγός μπορεί να βοηθήσει:
1. Φυσικά θα βρείτε μια κρύπτη με logbook στο χώρο και μπορείτε να κάνετε log ως συνήθως. Η κόρη μου θα χαιρόταν πολύ περισσότερο για πρόσθετα ημερολόγια με φωτογραφίες: Με αυτόν τον τρόπο μπορούμε να βλέπουμε πώς τα πάνε οι γάτες όταν δεν είμαστε στην Κρήτη αλλά στο σπίτι μας στη Γερμανία. Ως εκ τούτου: Καταγραφή με φωτογραφία εκτός από την καταχώρηση στο ημερολόγιο ρητά επιθυμητή!
2. Αν θέλετε, μπορείτε να φέρετε λίγη γατοτροφή και πόσιμο νερό για να φροντίσετε για τη σωματική τους ευεξία.
3. Παρακαλούμε επίσης να ελέγξετε τι βάζουν οι άλλοι για τις γάτες: Δυστυχώς, μερικές φορές το νερό δεν είναι φρέσκο/βρώμικο και συχνά οι γάτες παίρνουν ανούσια πράγματα για να φάνε που δεν τους αρέσουν ή δεν τρώγονται και έτσι πάνε χαμένα. Οι γάτες θα σας ευχαριστούν αν πηγαίνετε τα σκουπίδια και τα μη φαγώσιμα αντικείμενα στον κάδο απορριμμάτων απέναντι.
4 Αυτά για τη βραχυπρόθεσμη βοήθεια. Μεσοπρόθεσμα, θα ήταν καλό οι γάτες να γίνουν υγιείς και να παραμείνουν υγιείς και να στειρωθούν - όποιος γνωρίζει κάτι τέτοιο ή/και έχει τοπικές επαφές με φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις ή συμβουλές, παρακαλώ να τις δημοσιεύσει στο ημερολόγιο. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, οι επόμενοι cacher μπορούν να μάθουν πώς μπορούν να βοηθήσουν. 5.
5. Το να δώσετε στις γάτες ένα αγαπημένο σπίτι είναι ο μακροπρόθεσμος στόχος: αυτή η απόφαση πρέπει να είναι καλά μελετημένη και απαιτεί κάποια προετοιμασία καθώς και συντονισμό με κτηνιάτρους και τοπικούς βοηθούς. Μπορείτε να προσφέρετε ή να αναφέρετε κάποια βοήθεια για το σκοπό αυτό; Τότε παρακαλούμε να το δημοσιεύσετε στο ημερολόγιο. Ίσως όλοι μαζί να καταφέρουμε να βγάλουμε τις γάτες από τους δρόμους μία προς μία!

Inspiriert von CITO Caches ist dieser CICO entstanden. CICO steht für Cache in, cat out:
Gegenüber vom Strand von Tavronitis findet ihr ein so genanntes Katzencafé: Hier leben circa 20 heimatlose Katzen. Sie ernähren sich von Futterspenden von Touristen und Einheimischen. Flöhe und andere Krankheiten plagen das eine oder andere Tier. Da sie offensichtlich teilweise oder gar nicht kastriert sind, vermehren sie sich stark - somit werden es immer mehr Katzen ohne ein liebevolles zu Hause. “cat out” ist daher das langfristige Ziel dieses Caches: Auf diese Katzen aufmerksam machen damit sie ein liebevolles zu Hause finden. Dabei kann jeder Catcher mithelfen:
1. Natürlich findet ihr vor Ort einen Cache mit Logbuch und könnt wie üblich loggen. Sehr viel mehr würde sich meine Tochter über zusätzliche Fotologs freuen: So können wir sehen, wie es den Katzen geht, wenn wir nicht auf Kreta, sondern zu Hause in Deutschland sind. Daher: Log per Foto ergänzend zum Logbucheintrag ausdrücklich erwünscht!
2. Wer möchte, kann etwas Katzenfutter und Trinkwasser mitbringen und so für ihr leibliches Wohl sorgen.
3. Bitte schaut auch einmal nach, was andere den Katzen hinstellt: Leider ist das Wasser manchmal nicht frisch / dreckig und oft bekommen die Katzen unsinnige Dinge zum Fressen hingestellt, das ihnen nicht bekommt oder nicht gefressenen wird und somit verkommt. Die Katzen danken es euch, wenn ihr Müll und Ungenießbares in die Mülltonne auf der anderen Straßenseite bringt.
4. So weit zur kurzfristigen Hilfe. Mittelfristig wäre es gut, wenn die Katzen gesund werden und bleiben sowie kastriert werden - wer sich damit auskennt und / oder lokale Kontakte zu Tierschützern bzw. Hinweise hat, möge diese bitte im Log bekanntgegeben. So können nachfolgende Cacher nachlesen, wie sie konkret helfen können.
5. Den Katzen ein liebevolles zu Hause zu geben, ist das langfristige Ziel: Diese Entscheidung will wohl überlegt sein und erfordert einige Vorbereitungen sowie Abstimmungen mit Tierärzten und lokalen Helfern. Kannst Du dazu Hilfestellungen bieten oder benennen? Dann poste es bitte im Log. Vielleicht gelingt es uns so gemeinsam die Katzen nach und nach von der Straße zu holen!
