Geocache Description:

25 December 2023, 09:30 - 10:30

Let's runaway to sunny Mersea Island on Christmas morning -edit- it will be a proper island at the time of the event! A geocaching meet and greet at Victoria Esplanade car park in West Mersea at 9.30am to 10.30am.

BEWARE - Spring tide will flood the road causeway to Mersea Island from about 9.30am to 11.30am peaking at 10:30am.

Join the host, who is staying nearby with his mother-in-law for Christmas, for an informal meet and greet.

All the times I have been to Mersea Island I have never been caught out by the tides...until this event! Unless you live on the island please plan your drive to Mersea. Arriving for the event at 9.30am will not be an issue crossing the causeway - just have to note that we will be marooned until 11.30am.
Of course if you have a boat or you are prepared to wade...

Gather together for a geochat, exchange of Trackables and if all goes well I will have some hot sausage rolls! All are welcome to this event whether you are newbies to caching or you are a 20,000+ finder!
