Nature at the Confluence wants to introduce geocaching to folks who might be interested during Beloit Winterfest. This event will have a 30-45 minute introduction to geocaching and a hike along Nature at the Confluence trails, seeking some caches hidden in the park.
In the introduction we'll be discussing the history of geocaching.setting up an account and using the GPS on smartphones,D/T ratings,what the various icons mean,some dos and don'ts while geocaching,and various types of containers.
The hike is optional.
If anyone would like help setting up an account, we'll be glad to help after the hike.
Connect with nature in a new way with guidance from local geocachers! Participants will learn the basics of this GPS based activity, including how to find a cache, followed by a hike to search for caches along our trails. All ages and experience levels are welcome. All geocachers are welcome.
