The trail repair work along the Treadwell Ditch has required the instillation of many bridges. When the trail is on US Forest Service land, their engineering standards kick in. A bridge that should last 50 years. When placing the cache, the creek was dry, but I am sure there will be times when water runs below it.
The volunteer trail crew worked through the section of trail from the Horn to Bonnie Brae, about 1.75 miles, during the summer of 2023. It was horrible work! Tedious rock removal and creative wall cribbing. Please admire the work in this area.
Please remember that the Ditch has historical status and the archeologists at the Forest Service desire that it remain undisturbed.
The closest access point to the Treadwell Ditch for this cache is at 1 mile Eaglecrest Road. There is a small parking lot for the Emerson Spur.
