This is a Holiday Flashmob Event. It starts precisely at 10am and ends at 10:30. When logging your RSVP, it would be helpful to indicate (although not required) what kinds of cookies you are bringing so we can have a variety. This is the seventh annual Geocaching Holiday Cookie Mob. Previous ones have been in San Francisco hosted by mickey4jes. Since she has moved out of the area, we didn't want this tasty tradition to end.The location is now the gazebo at the Los Gatos Creek Group picnic area. Look for GBA folks if by chance the gazebo is full of holiday reveling muggles and we have to move a short distance away (highly unlikely at Saturday 10 am for our 30 minute window).
Remember, since it's a flashmob event, you should be hanging around "blending in" up until precisely 10 am. Please do not congregate!!!
Who doesn't LOVE COOKIES!? This event is a holiday cookie exchange event. Please bring 2-3 dozen cookies to be swapped. The more you bring, the more you can swap for! You'll start out with just your own, but should go home with a plethora of different types of cookies.
What to Bring
- 2-3 dozen cookies
- an empty tupperware container to swap your new cookies into (what geocacher does not have some tupperware around)
Schedule:
At precisely 10am
We will appear carrying a container for TB/coin swaps and some milk/cups to share. When we place these on the table, that'll be the signal that the fun has begun. This is also the time to be swapping TBs and coins.
At 10:05, we will gather around and take a group photo.
At 10:10, we will begin swapping of cookies. Please bring an empty tupperware container to swap INTO and use your existing tupperware to swap OUT. Please use a napkin when picking up cookies.
At 10:30, the event is over. Walk off and go about your day (or go off and gorge on cookies)!
Enjoy your cookies!
If you're not a cookie baker, bring some other type of edible holiday treat that can be swapped (at equivalent value to a cookie of course).
NOTE: This is a family friendly event, so please leave any "adult only" cookies at home.
To quote The Great British Baking show: "BAKE"
Re: parking, It is directly adjacent to the gazebo area. The sign says $2/hour or $6/day, but recently there has been no attendant and the self-serve parking machine is broken. It has power, but the screen doesn't respond. Use your judgement at the time as the conditions may vary. There's also some street parking outside the park on Dell, which is about a .2 walk. No biggie.
If you arrive early (or stay late), there are some nice trails to walk and things to find that geocachers might be interested in.
