The game Grand Theft Auto V takes place in the fictional city of Los Santos, a setting that borrows heavily from aspects of Los Angeles in both layout and in many of the landmarks. It’s intended to replicate the city’s identity without being a perfect scale model, but sometimes if you stand in just the right place it really feels like a “thin place” between reality and simulation.
As a tribute to the game’s tenth anniversary in 2023, I’ve hidden a series of caches that will take you to some of the iconic locations you can visit in both worlds.
The Rockford Hills Church is based on the real-life Church of the Good Shepherd and is one of the most prominent landmarks in the game's version of Beverly Hills. Although it doesn't play a major role in any missions or have any utility to the player, it serves as a recognizable landmark as its shiny golden spires can be easily spotted from up the hill as you're speeding down Vinewood Boulevard and its cross streets. It also makes for a fun place to explore, as its grounds and garden are fully modeled. If you're a fan of architecture or just like classical churches, I recommend taking a closer look after you've found the cache.
You're looking for a small-sized container, able to hold coins and other small trade items, across the street from the church. It is NOT located inside its host.
