The history
With this letterbox, the nucleus of what could be a future metropolis in Crete now has its own post office. The key is stuck and no interaction with another person is required to search, find and log the cache. But maybe you will also meet Bart, the postmaster of this small enclave, who will be happy to help you stamp your mail. Don't be afraid to talk to the minister, he speaks English, Greek, Dutch and German. He's always happy to have a conversation.
The task
The starting coordinates are also parking coordinates if you arrive by car in order to send a self-addressed and stamped postcard from the Kommos Beach Post Office. As with the letterbox in Agia Galini (GC7YAVR), you can now leave the postcard you brought with you here in order to add a story or just a greeting to another geocacher's card and then take it with you and drop it in a regular mailbox for delivery. This way you will later receive surprising greetings from Kommos Beach! Of course, you can also just sign the logbook and log the cache that way. It is also possible to store coins, smaller TB's or messages for the postmaster here.
The way
To find the small settlement with the letterbox you have to walk from the starting coordinates past some tamarisks about 120 m towards the sea or west. At the last bush/tree about 60 m before the waterline at the indicated waypoint then you go about 60 m in about 170o to the left or south and you have reached the post office on a small hill. A sign also shows you the way.

Η ιστορία
Με αυτό το γραμματοκιβώτιο, ο πυρήνας αυτού που θα μπορούσε να είναι μια μελλοντική μητρόπολη στην Κρήτη έχει πλέον το δικό του ταχυδρομείο. Το κλειδί έχει κολλήσει και δεν απαιτείται αλληλεπίδραση με άλλο άτομο για αναζήτηση, εύρεση και καταγραφή της κρυφής μνήμης. Ίσως όμως συναντήσετε και τον Bart, τον ταχυδρόμο αυτού του μικρού θύλακα, ο οποίος θα χαρεί να σας βοηθήσει να σφραγίσετε την αλληλογραφία σας. Μην φοβάστε να μιλήσετε με τον υπουργό, μιλάει αγγλικά, ελληνικά, ολλανδικά και γερμανικά. Είναι πάντα χαρούμενος που έχει μια συζήτηση.
Το έργο
Οι συντεταγμένες εκκίνησης είναι επίσης συντεταγμένες στάθμευσης εάν φτάσετε με αυτοκίνητο για να στείλετε μια αυτοδιεύθυνση και σφραγισμένη καρτ ποστάλ από το Ταχυδρομείο της Παραλίας Κομμού. Ο ΤΡΟΠΟΣ
Για να βρείτε τον μικρό οικισμό με το γραμματοκιβώτιο πρέπει να περπατήσετε από τις αρχικές συντεταγμένες περνώντας από μερικά αλμυρίκια περίπου 120 μέτρα προς τη θάλασσα ή προς τα δυτικά. Στον τελευταίο θάμνο/δέντρο περίπου 60 μέτρα πριν από την ίσαλο γραμμή στο ενδεικνυόμενο σημείο μετά πηγαίνετε περίπου 60 μέτρα σε περίπου 170o αριστερά ή νότια και έχετε φτάσει στο ταχυδρομείο σε έναν μικρό λόφο. Μια πινακίδα σας δείχνει επίσης το δρόμο.

Die Geschichte
Mit dieser Letterbox hat die Keimzelle einer vielleicht zukünftigen Metropole Kretas nun auch ihr eigenes Postamt. Der Schlüssel steckt und es ist zum Suchen, Finden und Loggen des Caches keine Interaktion mit einer anderen Person erforderlich. Vielleicht aber trefft ihr aber auch auf Bart, den Postminister dieser kleinen Enklave, welcher euch gerne behilflich ist, beim Stempeln eurer Post. Scheut euch nicht den Minister anzusprechen, er spricht Englisch, Griechisch, Niederländisch sowie Deutsch. Er freut er sich immer über ein Gespräch.
Die Aufgabe
Die Startkoordinaten sind gleichzeitig auch Parkkoordinaten, sofern ihr mit dem Auto anreist, um eine an euch selbst adressierte sowie frankierte Postkarte vom Kommos Beach Postoffice zu versenden. Wie bei der Letterbox in Agia Galini (GC7YAVR) könnt ihr nun auch hier eure mitgebrachte Postkarte hinterlegen, um die Karte eines anderen Geocachers mit einer Geschichte oder auch nur einem Gruß zu versehen und sie zur Zustellung dann in einen regulären Briefkasten mitzunehmen und einzuwerfen. So erhält man dann später selbst überraschende Grüße vom Kommos Beach! Selbstverständlich aber könnt ihr auch nur das Logbuch signieren und den Cache so loggen. Auch ist es möglich Coins, kleinere TB's oder Nachrichten für den Postminister hier abzulegen.
Der Weg
Um die kleine Ansiedlung mit der Letterbox zu finden müsst ihr von den Startkoordinaten vorbei an einigen Tamarisken circa 120 m Richtung Meer bzw. West laufen. Am letzten Busch/Baum circa 60 m vor der Wasserlinie am angegebenen Wegpunkt dann geht ihr ca. 60 m in circa 170o nach links bzw. Süd und ihr habt das Postoffice auf einer kleinen Anhöhe erreicht. Ein Schild weist euch zusätzlich den Weg.
