Hey y'all!
Nice to meet you, Fort Wayne. I am chicagocorgimom. I grew up in nearby Steuben County, moved to Chicago after college and called it home for five years, and also fell in love with geocaching while I lived there. If you have not cached Chicagoland, you have not lived. It's geocaching paradise! The caches are quality, yes, but the community it what really makes it special. I made great geocaching friends in town and was so sad to leave them when I decided to move back closer to family.
Weekends spent caching in forest preserves, after work grabs in parking lots, and walks with the corgis quickly added up to 1000 finds. Fun fact, I actually made my 1000th find at Midwest Geobash 2023! It was an awesome memory - I was with Bocksford, mjholley, bearpack8, my muggle husband, and my two corgis on the Owensboro, KY riverfront admiring the bridge light art and completing the Adventure Lab when before I knew it, I had made the comma club.
When we had returned home, my amazing geofriends treefairyJKLMN, Bocksford, and mjholley had surprised me with a 1000 milestone cache. Unfortunately, I was moving that very same week to Fort Wayne, so they were unable to gift it to me as a FTF, but they did instead gift it to me to place at my new home for all my new geofriends. So, now that I feel finally settled in to my new home, I have decided to place the cache they gifted me for you all to find.
Since this is on my front porch, I want to make visitors feel comfortable making the search. Follow these instructions to claim the find:
1. Park in any of the open parking spots in the lot. Do not park on the street.
2. Walk to the purple house with the numbers 2114. You will see a large chair on the porch. The cache container is found in the corgi planter under the patio chair.
3. Take a seat in the chair while you sign the log and replace it as found. There will always be SWAG in the cache, I will make sure of that!
