Geocache Description:

The Orient Hotel is situated at the edge of the German Colony, a neighborhood dating to 1873. The entrance to the hotel is a plaza with two authentic buildings on its sides, the schools of the German Templers that were conserved and are a cornerstone of the old-modern architecture of the hotel.

The cache is hidden between the hotel and the first station.

***

I hide this cache in memory of my sister, whom I love and miss very much.
It is the second cache I am hiding on her birthday (the first one is here:  GC9KA14 ) and I hope to repeat it in the coming years.

What can I say about the line that connects the unbearable loss and bereavement to the hope and belief that things can be better here for all of us? Here is what I want to say: It is important to me that we see that there seems to be no beginning, middle, and end here. Our lives here are not a simple story of disaster, coping, and redemption.
My sister's death, the death of any loved one, is not something from which conclusions can be drawn, but a disaster that cannot be repaired.

I want us to also see that all around us more and more such disasters have happened and are happening, and that it is our duty to prevent them, to do everything we can to prevent them. To ensure that no one is torn apart like we were torn apart. To ensure that we live not in a world where we seek to defeat and eliminate, to trample and win, but in a world where we try to benefit each other, to hold each other.

I believe there could be a society here that makes it possible. A society that, despite all the contradictions and disasters, upholds the values upon which this country was founded. Even if we have not always put these values into practice, and even if the possibility of acting according to them and instilling them further seems for moments very far away.

I want us to remember that equality is better than discrimination. Reconciliation is better than revenge. That life is better than death.

Especially in these sad times, when war is all over, hurting so many people, please remember to enjoy and cherish your time with your loved ones.
