Geocache Description:

29 February 2024, 08:00 - 09:00

Life's messy. Let's clean it up!

What: Kayak oriented river CITO.

When: Thursday, February 29th, 2024, at 8:00am

We will meet at the Little Big Econ State Forest pavilion, (posted coordinates), at 8:00am, on Leap Day, February 29th, 2024, to pass out supplies, and munch some snacks, while telling lies, and discussing our battle plan / kayak shuttle. From there, we will head to the kayak landing waypoint, on Snow Hill Rd, to leave some cars, and drive to the kayak launch, at County Rd 419 & Willingham Rd, to splash boats. It is about 8 miles of paddling, from the launch, to the landing, and should take us between 5 and 6 hours, depending on how much trash we gather. After we clean up the river, we will head back to the posted coordinates, for some schmoozing.

I will supply trash bags. You just need to bring your enthusiasm! Other things that may come in handy, include sunscreen, bug spray, grabbers, gloves, pokey sticks, hydration, and snackage. For paddlers, besides your normal gear, a kayak cart will come in handy, as it is a fairly lengthy hike, at the launch, from parking, to the water. If you wish to paddle, but do not have a boat, let me know. I have a couple spares I can loan. For folks who wish to attend, but are unable to paddle, head to the launch, the landing, or both, and do some CITO there.

Looking forward to seeing you!
