This Event Information

How better to Celebrate "Winnie the Pooh Day" (18th Jan) than to race sticks under a bridge

What will happen if you want to join in.

(You are welcome to come along to the event and just watch the racing from the parapet of the bridge overlooking the river)

There will be boxes of coloured sticks, coloured to aid identification from which each contestant will select their racing stick.

Those saying they WILL ATTEND will have a stick in the box for them to race with

Depending on the number of WILL ATTENDS will determine the format

Either a League (Everyone Races everyone) or a Knockout Competition (It will have a "LOG" Side and a "TWIG" side, the Twig side for the first round losers to compete for - There will be one final all in race, for a stick you have brought, no longer than 305mm and no bigger diameter that 25mm it is suggested that it is coloured in a bright colour.

Things about the Venue - A road bridge, on the Buckinghamshire-Bedfordshire Border, edge of Turvey village with pavement either side of the road and over a fast flowing major river hence each stick will only race once as it will be un-recoverable. - Contesting sticks will be placed on a board and tipped into the water. It is an outdoor event, wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather of the day

Once knocked out it might be worth considering a beverage at the nearby pub or cafe.

There will be, something on which to record your attendence, somewhere to exchange travel bugs
