Museu Berardo Traditional Cache

Residência do Capitão Barnabé Henriques, este palácio foi construído em inícios do século XVIII, sendo um bom exemplar do estilo barroco. Actualmente encorpa o mais recente museu da coleção Casa Berardo.

Residence of Captain Barnabé Henriques, this palace was built at the beginning of the 18th century and is a good example of the Baroque style. It currently houses the latest museum in the Casa Berardo collection.

Exclusivamente dedicado à azulejaria, surge como uma iniciativa conjunta da Coleção Berardo e a Câmara Municipal de Estremoz, na intenção de expor e dar a conhecer mais de 4500 exemplares de azulejaria, que vão do século XIII ao século XI, representado a história do azulejo.

Desta forma, o museu apresenta aquela que é considerada a maior e a mais importante coleção privada de azulejos de Portugal.

Exclusively dedicated to tiles, it appears as a joint initiative between the Berardo Collection and the Estremoz City Council, with the intention of exhibiting and showcasing more than 4500 examples of tiles, ranging from the 13th century to the 11th century, representing the history of tiles.

In this way, the museum presents what is considered the largest and most important private collection of tiles in Portugal.
