Mapleton Historical Site: St. John's Anglican Cemetery...
Small country cemeteries are absolutely amazing to me! They are like windows into the past.
Visiting them, is like stepping back into another time.
Historically...
St. John's Anglican Cemetery was established in 1874. It's Alternate Cemetery Names was "Anglican Cemetery". It is located at 45 Booth Street (8th Concession), Moorefield, Ontario in Mapleton Township. It was historically located in Maryborough Township. The cemetery includes markers from Medill Baptist Cemetery. The cemetery is located on land deeded to The Bishop of Niagara by John King who was buried there in 1861.
The cemetery is registered with Mapleton Township and is both closed and abandoned. The stones have been gathered into a cairn.
