Few foresaw the success of Star Wars. An intensely rocky production, skeptical cast and crew, and uncertainty surrounding the film's release resulted in the production of a very modest line of toys. It wasn't enough to meet demand during Christmas of 1977, when the wild popularity of Star Wars left every parent searching shelves for a piece of its universe. As a solution, toy manufacturer Kenner sold boxes containing a Certificate that people filled out and mailed in. When manufacturing caught up, Kenner mailed back a special four-piece action figure set including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, and Chewbacca. Eight other figures were later added to the line, including Darth Vader and Han Solo. The first Star Wars action figures sold for as little as $1.97 each.

Myakka River State Park is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks popular for hiking, fishing, camping and wildlife observation.
