Proposal for hiking routes
Please make the selection yourself at your own discretion/condition. There are various starting points for the Brocken ascent. These are the 3 routes/starting points that have been established for years. The starting points are designed as waypoints:
Starting point 1: Torfhaus
Torfhaus-Brocken-Goetheweg-Dammgraben - MEDIUM - 9km
Torfhaus-Brocken-Goetheweg-Hochmoor - MEDIUM - 9km
Starting point 2: Oderbrück
Oderbrück-Brocken - LIGHT - 8km
Starting point 3: Schierke
Schierke-Brocken-Brockenstrasse - EASY - 10km
Schierke-Brocken-old bobsleigh track - MEDIUM - 7km
Schierke-Brocken-Eckerlochstieg - HARD - 6km
Please plan sufficient time for the ascent independently and according to your own physical condition.
Weather
The weather can be cold and icy according to the season, bring hats, gloves, warm clothes, pocket warmers and hot drinks. The paths can be icy, spikes (even simple ones) serve well in this case and should also be in the luggage.
On the Brocken, the weather here can be extreme. Please keep this in mind when choosing your clothes! Everyone is responsible for their own actions. The Brocken ascent is possibly with fresh snow is not easy. Therefore, you should only participate if you feel able to do so!
