Die Steffl Arena in Wien, Österreich, befindet sich im Stadtteil Kagran, in der Donaustadt, dem 22. Wiener Gemeindebezirk. Diese Eissporthalle ist die Heimspiel- und Trainingsstätte der Vienna Capitals und hat eine vielfältige Nutzung. Neben dem Eishockey bietet die Halle Platz für Publikumseislauf, Schuleislauf, Eisstocksport sowie für Konzerte und Shows.
Die Geschichte der Eishalle begann 1989, als die Gemeinde Wien beschloss, eine moderne Eishalle für die Austragung der Eishockey-Weltmeisterschaft 1996 zu bauen. Nach 20 Monaten Bauzeit und Kosten von etwa 20,5 Millionen Euro wurde die Halle unter dem Namen Albert-Schultz-Halle eröffnet. Seit dem 1. Mai 2009 wird die Anlage von den Vienna Capitals betrieben.
Ursprünglich bestand die Eissportanlage aus einer großen Eisarena für 4.500 Zuschauer, einer kleinen Eishalle, einer Freilufteisbahn und einer Kegelbahn. Im Jahr 2011 wurde die Anlage um- und ausgebaut. Die Hauptarena (Halle 1) bietet nun Platz für 7.000 Zuschauer, und es wurde eine zusätzliche Eishalle (Halle 3) mit einer Kapazität von 1.000 Personen errichtet. Während Halle 1 vorwiegend dem Eishockey gewidmet ist, finden in den Hallen 2 und 3 Publikumseislaufen sowie Schul- und Kindergarteneislaufen statt.
Drei Jahre lang trug sie den Namen Erste Bank Arena. Nach verschiedenen Namensänderungen wurde die Eishalle im November 2021 offiziell zur Steffl Arena umbenannt.
Man kann den Cache öffentlich erreichen-U1 und 25 bis Kagran, mit 26 Saikogasse bzw. wenn man durch den schönen Kirschblütenpark spazierengehen will, dann auch mit 25, 26 oder 27A Josef-Baumann-Gasse. Mit dem Auto kann man nach Verfügbarkeit in der Attemsgasse parken, wobei es übliche Wiener Parktarife gelten.
Die Box beinhaltet natürlich einen Stempel (BITTE DIESEN STEMPEL NICHT MITNEHMEN!!!) und ein Logbuch. Für Trackables, Geocoins und Tauschgegenstände ist kein Platz in der Box. BYOP.

The Steffl Arena in Vienna, Austria, is located in the Kagran district, in the Donaustadt, the 22nd district of Vienna. This ice rink is the home venue and training ground for the Vienna Capitals and has diverse uses. In addition to ice hockey, the arena accommodates public skating, school skating, curling, as well as concerts and shows.
The history of the ice rink began in 1989 when the city of Vienna decided to build a modern ice rink for hosting the Ice Hockey World Championships in 1996. After 20 months of construction and at a cost of around 20.5 million euros, the arena was opened under the name Albert-Schultz-Halle. Since May 1, 2009, the facility has been operated by the Vienna Capitals.
Originally, the ice sports facility consisted of a large ice arena for 4,500 spectators, a small ice rink, an outdoor ice rink, and a bowling alley. In 2011, the facility was renovated and expanded. The main arena (Hall 1) now accommodates 7,000 spectators, and an additional ice rink (Hall 3) with a capacity of 1,000 people was built. While Hall 1 is mainly dedicated to ice hockey, public skating, school skating, and kindergarten skating take place in Halls 2 and 3.
For three years, it was named the Erste Bank Arena. After various name changes, the ice rink was officially renamed the Steffl Arena in November 2021.
The cache can be accessed publicly - take U1 or 25 to Kagran, go with 26 to Saikogasse, or if you want to walk through the beautiful Cherry Blossom Park, take 25, 26, or 27A to Josef-Baumann-Gasse. By car, you can park in Attemsgasse, subject to availability, with regular Vienna parking fees applying.
