American Giants, Muffler Men, Uniroyal Gals, all names for promotional landmarks to draw attention to businesses, built from 1963-1972. Most were about 22 feet tall and produced by International Fiberglass. Called simply Giant Men, they were incredibly popular and now less than 200 remain The female versions (called Miss America in the catalogue that sold the figures) began in 1966 and one estimate is just 13 are still around. This statue originally was in Winter Garden, Florida
There are six of these large statues in Dallas Georgia and the posted coordinates are the easiest (and most public) to access. There are five others in town: Big Mike (the other end of this parking lot), Mr. Bendo, Muffler Man Clown, Amish Farmer: Mortimer Snerd and Paul Bunyan Muffler Man. They are located at N33 56.929 W084 48.921.
