É uma ponte de pedra fascinante, que faz a ligação a um rochedo existente junto à praia dos Estudantes.
A ponte, que é o pano de fundo perfeito para fotos (durante a época balnear é normal deparar com um aglomerado de gente a fazer pose para a fotografia no local), faz parte da gloriosa história de Lagos.
Ela está no local onde existiu a antiga Bateria do Pinhão, uma fortificação datada do século XVIII, que fazia parte do sistema de defesa da cidade.
Mas, antes da Bateria do Pinhão, existiu o Forte do Pinhão, construído no século XVI e que foi destruído pelo sismo de 1755.
Agora, resta a ponte em arco que, como é costume dizer-se nos dias de hoje, é muito ‘instagramável’.

It is a fascinating stone bridge, which connects to a rock next to Praia dos Estudantes.
The bridge, which is the perfect backdrop for photos (during the bathing season it is normal to see a crowd of people posing for a photo there), is part of the glorious history of Lagos.
It is in the place where the old Pinhão Battery existed, a fortification dating from the 18th century, which was part of the city's defense system.
But, before the Pinhão Battery there was the Pinhão Fort, built in the 16th century and destroyed by the 1755 earthquake.
Now, all that’s left is the arched bridge, which, as they say these days, is very ‘instagrammable’.
