Since moving to Northern Nevada, this is one of our favorite places to hike. Winnemucca Lake is a high alpine lake that can be accessed year-round, assuming you like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter. My favorite route is starting at Woods Lake, hike up to Round Top Lake, and then climbing up and down to Winnemucca Lake. The view from this location is my favorite view of the lake. There is an "easier" route starting at Carson Pass.
There is a fee for parking at the trailheads.
Logging Requirements:
With the lake and the island in the lake in the backgroud, take a picture of yourself (face not required), your GPS device, or a personal geocaching item such as a trackable, a piece of paper with your geocaching name on it, or a piece of clothing related to geocaching. Please include the picture in your find log.
