Hoosier Hill is the highest natural point in Indiana with a claimed elevation of 1,257 feet above sea level. The Hill is located on private property in a forested area surrounded by farmland. You may park at the posted parking coords and "climb" up the short hill to the high point. It was at this spot where A.H. Marshall was the first person to successfully climb each U.S. state's highpoint. He competed his task in 1936 after standing atop Hoosier Hill.
Logging Requirements - Please do only ONE of the following two options:
1. Post a current picture of yourself or a personal item next to the engraved boulder that shows the Hill's elevation
OR
2. Email me the answers to the following questions:
a. How many picnic tables are at the site?
b. How many benches are at the site?
c. On the left side of the black mailbox is a sticker placed by The Highpointers Foundation. Fill in the blank Education, Preservation, _________
Just for fun compare the elevation where you live with the elevation at Hoosier Hill and post it in your log. The elevation at our home east of Indianapolis is 867 feet just 390 feet lower than the highest point in Indiana!!
Please do not post your answers in your log if you choose to do option 2. Remember if you post a photo you do not need to email the answers.
Congrats to Eye of the Pirate on being the FTF!
