Hommage au couple fondateur de la ville de caen - XI° siècle
En 1025, Caen entre dans l'histoire. C'est à cette date que l'on retrouve la première mention écrite d'un bourg alors appelé « Cadomus ». La cité normande, qui prend ensuite tout son essor sous le règne de Guillaume le Conquérant, célèbre ainsi son Millénaire en 2025.
Vers 1060, Guillaume, Duc de Normandie (1027-1087), fait construire le château où se tient son palais, et fonde avec son épouse Mathilde de Flandre (1031-1083) l'abbaye aux Hommes et l'abbaye aux Dames. Là, ils ont aussi établie leurs sépultures.
La ville de Caen parvient ainsi au rang d'une fondation dynastique peu avant que Guillaume s'empare du trône d'Angleterre en 1066 et fasse couronner sa reine, Mathilde, à Westminster, en 1068.
L’œuvre érigée au pied du château, et à mi-chemin des abbayes, rappelle ce moment qui fait de Caen le séjour régulier des souverains anglo-normands (1066-1204) sur la route qui relie leurs terres, par-delà la mer, du royaume anglais au duché d'Aquitaine.

Attention aux horaires : la plupart du temps ouverture de 9H à 19H30 mais l'abbaye aux Dames ferme en général 1 heure avant (samedi 18H).

Rendez-vous aux différents WP indiqués dans l'ordre de votre choix, correspondant à l'abbaye aux Hommes, l'abbaye aux Dames et la Statue de Guillaume et Mathilde et répondez aux questions ci-dessous (deux questions par WP). Chaque réponse, donne un caractère alphanumérique (A-Z / 0-9). Assemblez ensuite les 6 réponses dans l’ordre afin de constituer un code à 6 caractères qui correspond à un objet voyageur ! Pour valider cette tâche, vous devez loguer l'objet voyageur ou bien m'envoyer le code obtenu par le centre de messagerie Géocaching ou par mail, prouvant au passage que vous avez trouvé les bonnes réponses aux questions sur le terrain.

Tache 2/ La Photo-Souvenir :
Sur l'un des trois Waypoints prenez une photo de vous (visage en option) ou d'un objet personnel sur place (objet voyageur ou une feuille de papier avec le pseudo du géocacheur).
En résumé, cette cache sera validée une fois l'objet voyageur découvert ou bien le code transmit par messagerie ou email ET avec le rajout d'une photo dans votre log.

Tribute to the founding couple of the town of Caen - 11th century
