Big Rocking Horse
The big Rocking Horse is one of the star tourist attractions of Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills which is 45 mins drive from Adelaide CBD. It is one of the 600+ Big Things throughout Australia. After opening a toy store in 1973, owner Wal Wilkinson built the Big Rocking Horse to attact passing traffic to his store. The Big Rocking Horse is built entirely of steel and proudly stands 18.3 metres tall. There are three observation platforms to explore inside the Rocking Horse, at the Rocker Bows, on the saddle and the tallest at the top of the head. There is a small charge to climb the Rocking Horse.
