Ibu Pertiwi Flag pole

Sarawak's State flag has been named Ibu Pertiwi, which means Motherland. It symbolises Sarawak's sovereignty. The nine pointed star represents the nine divisions in the state, whilst the colour yellow denotes the importance of upholding the law, unity and stabiloity in diversity. The red potrays courage and black is the symbol of the abundant natural resources that Sarawak possesses.
At Dataran Ibu Pertiwi, the country's tallest flagpole with the Sarawak flag is the tallest in the country and it is located beside the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly opposite the Kuching Waterfront. The height of the flag pole is 99 metres tall.
KUCHING WATERFRONT MUSICAL FOUNTAIN
Across the bridge, there is the Darul Hana Musical Fountain which combines three elements namely music, water and light to create an amazing sight at night. The fountain shoot jets of water up to 25m high on a 100m-wide floating pontoon. The Darul Hana Musical Fountain also can create a 9m high and 80m wide water wall.
The Kuching Waterfront Darul Hana Musical Fountain only operates at night at the following time:
• Monday - Thursday 8:30 – 9:45PM, 9:30 – 9:45PM
• Friday – Sunday 8:30 – 9:45PM, 9:30 – 9:45PM, 10:30 – 10:45PM
Each show would run for 15 minutes. The time for the shows may be altered by DBKU according to events at the Kuching Waterfront.
How to claim this Virtual Cache.
Whether you are visiting Dataran Ibu Pertiwi or Kuching Waterfront to do some sightseeing or exercise, a photo log from anywhere within the Dataran Ibu Pertiwi or Kuching Waterfront showing the State Flag Ibu Pertiwi will be accepted! Bonus points for including the DUN building and the bridge.
Compulsory logging tasks
- Share at least 1 photo that clearly identifies you have been on location show the flag. Bonus point if your can capture the bridge to cross the river. A selfie (optional), your geocaching name, a photo of your personal trackable (love to discover it), GPS receiver or anything personal! You can be creative. I only request that you ensure your geocaching identity and location can be recognised! (PM accepted if you have privacy concerns).
