Nepozidan travnat grič v središču mesta, domačinom znan pod imenom Panorama, je zaradi odkritja večjega števila rimskih kamnitih spomenikov že dolgo znan kot bogato arheološko najdišče. Manjša arheološka izkopavanja, ki so se na Panorami izvajala vse od začetka 20. stoletja, so namigovala, da se pod površino griča nahaja zakopana mestna četrt rimske Petovione. Njeno dejansko podobo so razkrile šele geofizikalne raziskave v zadnjem desetletju, s katerimi smo dobili vpogled v arheološke ostaline pod površino. Izkazalo se je, da so pod travnato površino nepričakovano dobro ohranjeni ostanki mestne četrti. Pod površino griča se nahajajo ostanki različnih zgradb – mestnih vil, skladišč, svetišč, delavnic, ulic in drugih objektov. Danes je grič urejen kot zeleni kotiček Ptuja s sprehajalnimi potmi in z opisi arheoloških zakladov, ki so skriti pod gričem. Sprehajalne poti sledijo poteku nekdanjih rimskih ulic, medtem ko so informacijske table postavljene ob zanimivejših predelih griča. Zeleno mestno sprehajališče privablja tudi z idiličnimi razgledi na Ptujski grad in okolico.

The undeveloped land on the hill in the town center, which the locals call Panorama, has long been known as a rich archaeological site due to the large number of uncovered Roman stone monuments. Small-scale archaeological excavations, carried out on Panorama since the early 20th century, suggested that a town quarter of the Roman Poetovio is buried beneath the surface of the hill. We only learned how it looked through geophysical research conducted in the last decade, which allowed us to explore the archaeological remains below the surface. It turns out that the grass is covering unexpectedly well-preserved remains of a town quarter. The slopes of the hill lie above various buildings – town villas, warehouses, shrines, workshops, streets and other buildings. Today, the hill is a green corner of Ptuj with hiking trails and descriptions of the archaeological treasures hidden under the hill. The hiking trails follow the course of former Roman streets, and information boards are placed next to the more interesting parts of the hill. The green town promenade is also popular for its picturesque views of the Ptuj Castle and its surroundings.
