Take a leisurely 20-35 minute walk (each way) along a well-maintained former logging road, to the a humpback bridge.
On a clear day, the track offers stunning views of the Ruahine Range, Mounts Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Mount Taranaki.
You can continue to to Heritage Lodge, although the Lodge is privately owned by the Manawatu Branch of the New Zealand Deerstalkers Association, it is open for public accommodation.
The cache is a bison tube under the bridge at the hut end. Slight change to location "not on the ground. It's still under the bridge." Don't put a foot wrong or you'll be over the cliff.
