I contacted the Mannum Information Centre and just asked the question; Can you tell of a good place to have breakfast for a small group of people on the morning of February 28th please?
I got a moment of silence before I was asked a few more questions. When I explained who we were and why we were in town, the gates opened up and the ideas flowed out. Chris from the information centre was abuzz with ideas and things we/he could do, “but I need to check first” the excitement was contagious. He was amazing to deal with, we chatted a bit more and within 2 hours we had a venue, a breakfast and a boat tour. AMAZING, and all I was after was a small sit down place to eat, lol. The excitement and enthusiasm was just awesome.
This event will be supported by the local volunteers of the information centre.
THE EVENT is a BBQ Breakfast at a very minimum cost followed by a tour of the Paddle Steamer Marion (at no charge). The breakfast event will run for half an hour (8.00am - 8.30am), however you are not restricted to those times and you can stay and play for longer if you wish.
The BBQ Breakfast will consist of bacon, eggs, bread, condiments, coffee & tea – please advise of any dietary requirements. They will have a ground coffee machine onsite, for the lovers of real coffee to purchase.
FREE: You will have your opportunity to board and wonder around the Paddle Steamer Marion, yes at no cost.
This is a great opportunity to help out a town getting back on its feet.
Have a breakfast, do a tour of the Marion, grab a few local caches and check out this lovely little town on the Murray.
As the event is being catered for us, placing a WILL ATTEND is essential if you are coming along. Please do so by Monday 10 am so numbers can be given to the caters.
