This cache has been published as part of the national Village Hall Week 2024.
West Hallam is really fortunate in having three community buildings which can be used by various groups; as well as the Community Centre there is also the old Village Hall and the small Powtrell Pavilion. (You can also hire the hall at the Methodist Church too.)
The Community Centre on Station Road is the largest of these facilities, built in 1983, but not a particularly attractive building. As well as hosting one of the village pre-school playgroups, and a youth club, there is a large sports hall and facilities for a wide variety of events.
The cache is not at the published coordinates. The published waypoint is for the large centre car park. Not only can you park here while you look for the cache – there are no parking restrictions - but more importantly you can gather the information you need to calculate the final coordinates..
To find these you will need to look at the front of the centre.
