The Methodists did not have a place of worship in West Hallam until the second half of the twentieth century, when a temporary structure was built on High Lane Central for this purpose.
A replacement permanent building was erected on High Lane West twenty years later. As well as the main religious section of the building (on the right if viewed from the road) the church also has a large hall which is used by various groups. West Hallam Methodists have been operating a food bank covering West Hallam and surrounding villages for several years. The church works in conjunction with the Church of England churches in West Hallam, Mapperley, Stanley and Stanley Common, and also the Methodist Church at Stanley; the collective group is known as WSSM Churches Together.
The published waypoint is for the church car park, where you will find the information you need. You should also be fine here while you look for the cache, unless there is a service or event taking place.
The cache is not at the published coordinates. To find these you will need to look at the foundation stone (just to the right of the front door to the building) and at a plaque, to the left of the defibrillator, which commemorates the church organist.

A Number of letters of the organist’s surname.
B Number of letters in his third name.
C Third digit in the year the foundation stone was laid, minus the fourth digit.
D Third digit of the year the organist died.
E Number of times the letter K appears on the plaque
F First digit of the day of the month on which the organist was born.
The cache is a short distance away – walk from the car park, but be careful when crossing the road.
