
Wat That Kaow is named after the appearance of the pagoda which once was lime plastered with white color. This temple faces the East. It's composed of the monthop-shaped or bell-shaped main pagoda located at the west of Vihara, which was built without bearing wall, and also the ordinary hall placed at the south of the main pagoda.
According to the excavation in 1985, the stucco Buddha image was found at the back of the ordinary hall and was presumed to be the original principle image. This temple can be dated around the 15th -16th century A.D. from the finding of the pieces of Lanna stoneware; Vieng kalong kiln and San kampang kiln and the pieces of inscription with Fug Kam alphabets were inscribed.
