Wusstet ihr, dass es 27’000 Schrebergärten in der Schweiz gibt?
Der Familiengartenverein Wiedikon wurde 1916 gegründet und besteht aus 780 Parzellen à je 200 Quadratmetern. Ziel der Gründung damals war es zu „Fleiss- und Familiensinn“ zu erziehen und die Arbeiter von Politik und Alkohol fernzuhalten. Heute sind die 780 Parzellen komplett vermietet und die Warteschlange ist lang. Die Jahrespacht beträgt ca. 400 CHF.
Ein Glück, dass wir vor 10 Jahren hier einen schönen Garten übernehmen durften. Zu Zweit teilen wir uns rein und erfreuen uns immer wieder an dem Wachstum. Wenn ihr also eine besonders bunte Flagge wehen seht oder im Frühling den Giersch-Duft spürt, könnte es sein, dass ihr unsere Parzelle entdeckt habt.
Dies ist unser erster Cache und wir mit viel Liebe gepflegt. Wetterfest sollte er versteckt sein, wir wünschen euch viel Freude hier oben!

Up here you have a wonderful view over Zurich and can see some of the beautiful allotment gardens in Friesenberg.
Did you know that there are 27,000 allotment gardens in Switzerland?
The Wiedikon allotment garden association was founded in 1916 and consists of 780 plots of 200 square meters each. The aim of the founding at that time was to educate workers to be "industrious and family-oriented" and to keep them away from politics and alcohol. Today, the 780 plots are fully rented out and the queue is long. The annual rent is around CHF 400.
We were lucky to be able to take over a beautiful garden here 10 years ago. The two of us share it and we always enjoy the growth. So if you see a particularly colorful flag waving or smell the scent of goutweed in spring, you might have discovered our plot.
This is our first cache and we take great care of it. It should be hidden and weatherproof, so we hope you have lots of fun up here!
