Quem conhece as ruínas da cidade romana de Conimbriga, e para quem não conhece, agora pode aproveitar e desfrutar de uma nova atração no dominio do lazer, desporto e aventura.
O trilho de Rio de Mouros (também conhecido por Caralium Secum), recentemente construido através de passadiços ao longo das margens daquele rio, permite ligar a cascata, umas das principais atracções do património natural do concelho, à ponte junto às Ruínas de Conímbriga.
A meio do percurso, entre passadiços e troços de terra batida, encontramos uma plataforma, em forma de meia lua, com bancos originais, que nos ajudam a descansar. Neste pequeno miradouro conseguimos ver o vale em garganta do rio também conhecido como Rio Ega e toda a vegetação que envolve o trilho.
O troço superior, a montante de Conímbriga, desenvolve-se numa região cársica e, por isso mesmo, durante grande parte do ano não tem caudal, não tem água para surpresa dos visitantes, mas o arvoredo acompanha-nos nesta viagem.
Já mesmo a chegar à Cascata do Rio dos Mouros existe a ponte suspensa à “Indiana Jones” que atravessa o rio, mas antes uma outra travessia ajuda quem visita este recanto da aldeia de Condeixa-a-Velha e também Conimbriga, com as suas famosas ruínas romanas e seu museu, a serpentear este percurso pedonal envolto em verde e rochedos.

Those who know the ruins of the Roman city of Conimbriga, and those who don't, can now take advantage and enjoy a new attraction in the field of leisure, sport and adventure.
The Rio de Mouros (MOORISH RIVER, also known as Caralium Secum) trail , recently built using walkways along the banks of that river, allows you to connect the waterfall, one of the main attractions of the municipality's natural heritage, to the bridge next to the Conímbriga Ruins.
Halfway along the route, between walkways and sections of dirt, we find a platform, shaped like a half moon, with original benches, which help us rest. From this small viewpoint we can see the river gorge valley also known as the Ega River and all the vegetation that surrounds the trail.
The upper section, upstream of Conímbriga, develops in a karst region and, therefore, for much of the year there is no flow, no water, much to the surprise of visitors, but the trees accompany us on this journey.
Just arriving at the Rio dos Mouros Waterfall there is the “Indiana Jones” suspension bridge that crosses the river, but before that another crossing helps those who visit this corner of the village of Condeixa-a-Velha and also Conimbriga, with its famous Roman ruins and their museum, winding along this pedestrian path surrounded by greenery and rocks.
