Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, though that is a good place to start your journey. The Barnes House is an important part of PWC history, as it is one of the very few remaining structures in Northern Virginia that was owned by freed slaves.
The Barnes family led a remarkable life, especially considering the conditions they were born into. Mr. Barnes was buried with honors.
Much like the previous cache here, it had to be relocated to preserve it so that others may learn about this important place. Read the historic signs and dedication plaques here to determine the location of the nearby cache.
