Shantou S.E.Z Landmark - 升腾

汕头经济特区标志性建筑雕塑，位于广东省汕头市龙湖区迎宾路，是近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑，是汕头市第七批文物保护单位。

"The Ascension" is a landmark sculpture in Shantou Special Economic Zone, located on Yingbin Road in Longhu District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It is an important historical site and representative building of the modern era, and is the seventh batch of heritage conservation units in Shantou City.

雕塑建于1990年12月，由广州美术学院钟宝驹设计。雕塑体分别由石、铜、不锈钢三部分材料组成，分别代指人类所经历的石器时代、铜器时代和铁器时代，最后发展至高科技时代，喻意汕头经济特区事业发展日日上升。三根顶部镶有星星标志的金属杆错落有致，高耸挺拔，体现了汕头特区蓬勃发展、蒸蒸日上的主题。该雕塑是1981年汕头经济特区作为中国五大经济特区之一正式起步的地方。

The sculpture was built in December 1990 and designed by Zhong Baoju from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. The sculpture consists of three parts made of stone, copper, and stainless steel, representing the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age experienced by humanity, ultimately leading to the high-tech era, symbolizing the daily advancement of the Shantou Special Economic Zone. The three metal rods at the top, each adorned with a star symbol, are arranged in a distinctive and towering manner, embodying the thriving and rising theme of the Shantou Special Economic Zone. This sculpture marks the formal beginning of Shantou Special Economic Zone as one of China's five major special economic zones in 1981.
