Welcome to Fairhaven! This area has a rich history and this short tour will show you a few of its historic structures. See waypoints below for Pharmacy, Founding Father, Post Office, and Firehouse. At each location, enter the answer into the linked Certitude checker. If your answer is correct, you will receive part of the final coordinates. It is recommended that you visit the locations in the given order.
- Fairhaven Pharmacy. The building on the NW corner of 12th Street and Harris Avenue was the local pharmacy until 2016. Proceed to the north side of the building and answer the following question: In what year did George Finnegan purchase the pharmacy? Answer here.
- Founding Father: At this corner you will encounter one of Bellingham's founding fathers. What is his last name? Answer here.
- Post Office: The building occupied by Skylark's restaurant has served many uses over the years. It has undergone a number of structural changes that have relegated the building to "secondary historic significance" as part of the Fairhaven Historic District. What word appears near the top of the artifact from merry old England that stands to the south of the old Post Office? Answer here.
- Firehouse: This facility, designed in the Spanish Mission revival style by architect F. Stanley Piper, was constructed in 1927 for $15,000 and housed a crew of six firefighters plus equipment. The Firehouse has been repurposed. What is the firehouse now? Answer here.
