During a recent trip to Rotoroa Island in the Hauraki Gulf , I was moved to place a new Geocache here .
If you ever want to get away for a day trip, or even stay 2 days in a wonderful paradise, predator free sanctuary with amazing beaches and bird life ; this is the place .
The only way here is on a Fullers Boat...or a private boat . No dogs allowed obviously !
Plus bring your own drinks. meals and snacks .
This amazing Sculpture by Chris Booth towers into the sky....inspired by the windbent branches of a nearby Pohutukawa.
And the word Kaitiaki means " Guardian "
On arrival you will be given a map...and this Sculpture is on the Southern Loop Track .
Cache is a small camo painted bison .Ground Level
Please replace securely....and be stealthy if others are nearby.
It was commissioned to commemorate Jack Plowman ; father of the Island's benefactor Neal Plowman.
