A police call is when an entire military unit lines up and walks across a certain area looking for trash. An appropriate term for a geocaching event where we clean up trash at an historic fort.

Join us in our endeavor to give back to our community and our park systems as we help clear out some of the trash in this wonderful park. We will not line up like soldiers in order to do the work, but please spread out across the park and choose different sections to focus on. Park Ranger Barbara Wadding has asked us to focus on the fields where we come into the park and the main parking lot closer to the fort. These areas (as opposed to their regular, monthly shoreline cleanups) are rarely policed and could use some TLC. See the photo below for the main areas of focus:

Meet at the small parking lot at the posted coordinates where I will have the trash bags for you. I have posted alternate parking coordinates (the main parking lot) where you could also begin your policing. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, and gloves if you desire. Bring your own trash grabbers as well, if you have them. We will meet back at the posted coordinates at 12:30 for a group photo.
