31st March - Mulching Miraculous Mantle
CITO 2024, Season 1
Attend a CITO from Friday 1st March through to Friday 31st May 2024 to get an official CITO Souvenir
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the brook (alternative parking).
Where: Meet by the main gate at 10 am or find us Queen's Green Canopy Woodland by the railway (published coords).
What: We will be clearing weeds from the newly planted trees, checking stakes and guards and mulching trees using recycled woodchip. The mulch will suppress weed growth and give the trees a nutrient boost.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have a shears, a lump hammer and bucket please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have any tools as the ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please do bring a drink as it can be thirsty work!
