The Location:

Queanbeyan, on the Queanbeyan River, is a city in the south-eastern region of New South Wales, located adjacent to the ACT in the Southern Tablelands region. It is the council seat of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council.

The first inhabitants of Queanbeyan were the Ngambri peoples of the Walgalu Nation.

Queanbeyan was officially proclaimed a township in 1838 and 13 years later, gold was discovered. Settlers were harassed by bushrangers, of which Frank Gardiner and Ben Hall were probably the more notorious. The Salvation Army claimed an outpost in Queanbeyan in 1884.

At the height of its rural prosperity Queanbeyan boasted sixteen public houses and six flourmills powered by wind, water, horse and steam. Queanbeyan was granted city status in 1972.

Queanbeyan has a number of heritage-listed sites, including:
Rusten House, a former nurses quarters and hspotal from 1862
Hibernia Lodge built in 1865 as a residence
Queanbeyan Showground site is of strong cultural significance to the Aboriginal community
Queanbeyan railway bridge completed in 1927
Queanbeyan railway station opened on 8 September 1887 when the Bombala line was extended from Bungendore
Byrnes Mill and Millhouse operations began in December 1883, with the mill's two employees soon producing forty bags of flour per day.
St Stephen's Presbyterian Church and Manse built from 1872 to 1883
Christ Church built from 1859 to 1860
Kawaree, a former residence and parsonage built from 1886 to 1889.

There are many notable residents of Queanbeyan, including David Campese (football), Brad Hadden (cricket), Glenn Lazarus (footballer/politician), Megan Marcks (olmypic gold medalist), Ricky Stuart (footballer/coach) and Mark Webber (motor sports).

There are many caches (a heritage from the 2019 Mega) and and adventure labs in the area.

Technical details:

This Kaffee Kache is an interactive mystery geocache. It requires a smartphone. It is a unique way of stringing together virtual and physical waypoints. Thus, it is part virtual cache, part multicache, part puzzle cache, and part adventure lab. What more could one want?

A Kaffee Kache does not require any specific hardware or software - just internet access and a browser.  There is no need to download any Cartridge or App.

A Kaffee Kache also has a Teamwork attribute.  Because an Intercache works live across web-based activities, having a friend or two could save you the intricacies of internet drop-out or phone freeze should such happen in low-signal areas.
