ODD JOB DAY IN THE ORCHARD
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere Brook Reserve. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the Reserve (Parking area / Meet-up point).
Where: Meet by the main gates at 09:30 or after that time find us working in the Community Orchard (main coordinates). See waypoint for kissing gate access from the main track, then follow the path up until you spot us.
What: There are always plenty of odd jobs to do in the various areas of Horsbere Reserve. Today we will start in the Orchard, caring for the trees and filling in holes on the footpaths. Afterwards we will move on to the Community Woodland where there are more tasks to be done.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible and if you wish to use your own tools (hammer, shears) please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The CITO session will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink/snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided. 🙂
