Geocache Description:

This cache is the sixth in a series I am starting to provide an interactive historical tour of the Village of Westchester in anticipation of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the village in 2026. The goal is to have 100 (or as close to 100 as possible) active geocaches in Westchester that tell a story. For this cache, a glimpse into what Christmastime looked like for Westchesterians in the middle part of the 19th century is featured. Enjoy the following historical images courtesy of the Anyone Who Ever Lived In Westchester Facebook group. Those from the northmost block of Westchester Blvd are noted. Please be sure that the cache is secured to its host upon departure (the use of magnetics was not an option 🙃)

Christmastime in the northmost block:

630 Westchester Blvd - Exterior Christmas decorations, c. 1964 or 65

630 Westchester Blvd - Family Christmas tree from the early 1970's
