Geocache Description:

Buzzard Swamp. A 11.2 mile system of inter-connecting trails offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities on the Forest. The area is an important link in the Atlantic flyway during the waterfowl migration.

Visitors can cross-country ski, mountain bike, hike, hunt or go bass fishing. Fifteen man-made ponds were constructed in the early 1960’s in partnership with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Buzzard Swamp is within a special management area that emphasizes wildlife management and recreational opportunities.

*** Although this string of caches is not officially in the Buzzard Swamp area, they are close by and still in Allegheny National Forest. This area is heavily hunted and cachers along with hikers should be cautious. ***

*** Please wear orange during hunting season. ***

All caches are intended to be easy to find, with the hint, once you get to GZ. Most will be hidden by sticks or bark and will have a part of the cache container exposed. Rehide them the same way you find them.

I know some cachers like to make caches harder to find, but this is not my intention. I want everyone to find these and have a nice string of smileys when finished.

If you find something amiss with the cache, put it in your log or send me a message and I will update. Again, I want everyone to find these caches. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful area.
