Chihshang (池上) Township in Taitung County is famous for its sprawling rice paddies and scenic vistas. The area is a favorite for cycling enthusiasts, due to its flat topography, serene beauty, and exclusion of cars and motorcyles. Among the most prominent landmarks in this area is the big waterwheel located on 錦新二號道路. It’s a pleasant place to stop for a rest, sit on the benches under the shade tree, dip your feet in the cool water, and enjoy the fresh air and idyllic scenery. The cache is NOT on the waterwheel itself, and no dangerous climbing or touching the waterwheel is necessary to find the cache.
