Geocache Description:

Welcome to Kent Island.

Since the actual finds in this series are easy-peasy, I’m having you do a little work to get the real coordinates.

Cache is not at the listed coordinates. (Although, it is a good place to spend a hot summer day.) You must solve the puzzle.

People have lived on Kent Island for over 12,000 years and in the Americas for much longer. At the time of European contact in 1631, the Matapeake people were living on Monoponson Island (Kent Island). Initially, they lived in the southeastern part of the Island and later could be found around the town of Broad Creek. Matapeake State Park is named after them.

The Matapeake, Lenape, and Choptank were the tribes on the Eastern Shore at time of contact and they spoke one of the Algonquian Languages.

Use the usual source to find the answers. This has been updated to accommodate the new Wikipedia page,
