This cache is placed on the Little Llagas Creek Trail in Calero County Park, but it's more easily accessed from Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve. As you're heading up Little Llagas Creek, it's nice to have some stops to rest. This cache provides a rest and a beautiful view, just a few steps off the trail. The chamise bush that provides the cache hiding spot looks like it's windswept to one side, but possibly it just grew that way or is missing some limbs.
You're looking for a medium-sized Snaplock container with pretty standard camo. It's most easily accessed from above. There's a good deal of poison oak along the trail, but it's easily spotted and avoided. I saw no poison oak near the cache. The cache is a fairly short hike from the Cañada del Oro side, or a longer one if you come up from the Calero side. If you continue on to the Bald Peaks Trail, enjoy the spectacular view! It's well worth the effort.
Cañada del Oro hours vary based on the time of year. Winter hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm. Summer hours are 6:00am to sunset. Calero trail hours are sunrise to sunset year-round. Happy hunting!
