The Earth takes EXACTLY 365 days, 5 Hours, 48 Minutes and 56 Seconds (Or 365.242190 Days) to orbit the Sun. Without February 29th, every four years, we would LOSE 6 Hours Per Year.
Annus Confusionis is Latin for The Year of Confusion.
Albeit a little strange to our way of thinking in 2024, but in the Year of Confusion, which was 46 B.C.E. Julius Caesar added two extra leap months to recalibrate the calendar to prepare for the calendar reform, which went into effect in 45 BC. That’s right…. It was 445 Days Long!!!
It is the Longest Recorded Year in Human History, it is also the First Year that implemented the need for a LEAP YEAR. Caesar adapted the idea from the Egyptians, although his math wasn’t mathing and he overestimated the Solar year by 11 minutes, and an over correction of 8 days per Millenia.
In 1582 The Gregorian Calendar was implemented by the Catholic Church. It is the most widely used Calendar in the world today. But, it is not the only Calendar used. In fact, there are over 40 Calendars used throughout the world as of today.
There are Rules to Leap Years. Both 1896 and 1904 were Leap Years, but 1900 Was NOT. IF the year is divisible by four, it's a leap year. But if the year can be divided by 100 as well as four, it's not a leap year. However, if the year is divisible by 400, it is a leap year. For example, 1700, 1800, 1900 Were Not Leap Years, but 1600, 2000 were.
Enough about the history of it and down to the nitty gritty of the cache. There is Ample parking. When you arrive to the GZ you will see a DRY HYDRANT. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE HYDRANT, THE CACHE IS NOT ON, IN, OR EVEN NEAR THE DRY HYDRANT. SO DO NOT TOUCH IT!!
The area may not be suitable for littles or GeoPets, as it is a high traffic area. Please use Stealth if there are muggles in the Area.
The Cache is rated 3.0 for the Cache container. Please replace Cache and area exactly as found, NO it doesn't need to be in a better spot so do not move it.
